Opening game of Major League Baseball (MLB) in five days. 1 starter from each team goes all out. MLB.com picked the most interesting matchup.

The first place is the match between the New York Mets and the Miami Marlins, where Cy Young Award winners will face each other.

For the Mets, Max Scherzer, who won the Cy Young Award three times, including the American League (AL) in 2013 and the National League (NL) in 2016 and 2017, will step out. He made his fourth Opening Day start since the Mets move. Miami will open the 2022 season with NL Cy Young Award winner Sandy Alcantara.

Scherzer pitched in 23 games last season (2022), recording an ERA of 11-5 and an average of 2.29. He didn’t make much appearances because he was sidelined for two months with an oblique muscle injury. There was no mound against Miami in the 2022 season.

Alcantara went 14-9 with a 2.28 ERA in 32 appearances. He went 1-1 with an earned run average of 3.33 in 4 games against the Mets. He has participated in the 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC) Dominican Republic national team.

In fact, it seemed that the Mets selection would be Justin Verlander, who transferred to a free agent (FA) contract last winter. However, his first appearance was decided in the Mets’ home (City Field) opener. Verlander is an AL Cy Young Award winner for the 2022 season. The confrontation between the best pitchers of the previous year failed.

The second place in the big match selected by MLB.com is the match between the San Francisco Giants and the New York Yankees. They had a scouting match over big fish players in Stove League. The Yankees have recruited Aaron Judge, the “Big Gun,” and first-choice pitcher Carlos Rodon.

On this day, the Yankees pitched ace Garrett Cole, and the San Francisco pitcher Logan Webb, the “Young Gun”, as their starting pitchers. Because ‘transfer student’ Rodon was on the injured list, the Yankees were able to put up a call without hesitation. The name value is much higher than Webb, who is now in his 5th year in the big leagues. But MLB.com called Webb “the most underrated pitcher.”  온라인카지노

The third place is the match between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Texas Rangers. Jacob de Grom, considered the number one player, will make his debut in a Texas uniform. DeGrom is considered the best pitcher on the mound, but he is also a pitcher with a reputation for being “glassy” due to frequent injuries. He complained of pain in his side even before the opening of the string camp. He took care of his injury, digested his demonstration game, and was also dropped as a starter for the opening game.

The 2022 season NL champion Philadelphia put out its ace Aaron Nola. Nola goes to the opening game for the sixth year in a row.

WBC Most Valuable Player (MVP) Shohei Ohtani’s match between the Los Angeles Angels and the Oakland Athletics ranked fifth. MLB.com reminds us of Ohtani striking out teammate Mike Trout to secure the championship (score 3-2) in a two-out match in the top of the ninth inning of the WBC Finals between Japan and the United States. He said that he should appreciate the fact that he plays center field defense from behind.
