The Manchester United captain’s armband is back in place.

Manchester United announced on the club’s website on Monday (July 21) that “Bruno has been appointed captain. He has already worn the armband several times. Manager Eric ten Hagg confirmed that Bruno will lead the players and he has scored 64 goals and provided 54 assists in 185 games since joining the club in 2020,” the official statement read.

The previous captain was Harry Maguire. United announced the captaincy change on July 17. Maguire said on social media, “I spoke to Van Gaal and he told me he was changing the captaincy and explained why. I am personally very disappointed, but I will continue to give my best every time I put on the shirt. I am very grateful to the fans for their support while I wore the armband.”

“It was very special to lead United in that role (captain) three and a half years ago. It was one of the proudest moments of my career so far. It’s one of the greatest honors in club football. I did everything I could to help United on and off the field. I will always be grateful to former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for entrusting me with the captaincy.”

In conclusion, United said: “Everyone at the club would like to thank Maguire for his contribution as captain. Manager Van Gaal will be informed and a new captain will be announced in due course.” Now, instead of “Captain Maguire,” United will be “Captain Bruno” as they look to revive the franchise. 메이저놀이터

Bruno grew up playing for Boavista in the Portuguese Primeira Liga before heading to Italy, where he made his first professional appearance for Novara Calcio in Serie B. He went on to play for Udinese in Serie A. He went on to play for Udinese and Sampdoria in Serie A, where he made his mark on the Italian scene.

A move to Sporting brought Bruno back to Portugal. With more playing time and experience, he literally took off. In 2018-19, Bruno racked up 33 offensive points (20 goals, 13 assists) in 33 league games, establishing himself as one of the best attacking options on the Portuguese stage.

Finally, a big club. In 2020, Manchester United spent €65 million to sign Bruno. There were concerns that he was unproven in the English Premier League (EPL), but it all turned out to be a fluke. Bruno has made an unprecedented impact and is on track for his fourth consecutive season of double-digit EPL offense (15-29-16-16).

Bruno has finally been named United captain. Maguire, on the other hand, has been a disappointment since being stripped of the armband. The early speculation of his departure has gained even more weight.
