Mikel Arteta has a strong warning for Aaron Ramsey.

Arsenal defeated Everton 1-0 in the fifth round of the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) on Sunday at Goodison Park in Liverpool, England, with Leandro Trosar scoring the winning goal in the 24th minute.

Arteta opted for David Luiz over Ramsdale in goal on the day. Ramsdale had a few shaky moments in the previous match against Manchester United, so Laya, who joined on loan this season, got the start.

Raya had a great game overall. He didn’t have many moments to make saves as the Everton attack wasn’t sharp, but he showed good positioning in the 26th minute of the second half when Everton sent the ball forward on the right from a kickoff and he jumped out to clear it.

What stood out more was his passing. Raya was able to create solid buildups with good passes from the back line. He completed 94% (30/32) of his passes against Everton, and his two unsuccessful passes were both long balls, so he virtually never caused problems at the back. His long balls were also highly successful, converting seven out of nine. 메이저놀이터

The Arsenal defense could be shaken up in the future. Ramsdale joined Arsenal in the 2021-2022 season, pushing Bert Leno out of the starting lineup in the fourth round of the EPL. Ramsdale, who has better footwork and reflexes than Leno in the Arsenal goal, could be benched for the exact same reason.

Arteta’s words were more of a warning. In his post-match press conference, he said, “In the last two games, in the 60th and 85th minute, I thought I should change the goalkeeper. But we didn’t. I didn’t have the courage to do it,” he said, suggesting that he wasn’t too happy with Ramsdale’s performance.

“Why not change the goalkeeper, we have other goalkeepers who are good, and when you want to change it, you can change it. I regret that we didn’t do that before,” he said, adding that goalkeeping can be changed like any other position, implying that Ramsdale would lose his starting spot if he didn’t improve.
